It' a very fair prince I paid mine 23K€ but with french official registration plate that is very difficult to obtain and nowadays impossible to registrate a new K9
A few years ago when it was possible to import BD in France for a new K9 you paid between 38.000€ and 40.000€
Crazy no ?
What is the problem? We are in European Union... I can import ANY vehicle to Poland (from outside the UE also) and register it. I think we have unified legal framework... Maybe in France or other countries it's more complicated but not impossible. If it's impossible it's against the european law.

You are correct, but some like in Holland, encounter the whole process a bit more difficult than us.

In Spain is also quite easy, just costly $$$

Franco you purchased at a very good price, lucky you,
Daro, No in France it is impossible now with the new laws, they don't care about european union, normally the limitation at 100 Hp for motorcycles should have been abolished since years and it still exists in France on the contrary of the european union, yes it iseasier in Poland, Spain, even Holland is easier...but in France.....that's why there are so few big dogs over here

Please try to register a Big Dog in Finland! Fucking nightmare! Been asking around how guys have done it. One way is to move to Finland and take a bike with you, some have forged paperwork and now they have BD's with Suzuki, Yamaha etc. paperwork!

Because there is no homologation for Big Dog in Holland (they have never been officially imported) you cannot get a registration easily, the whole bike has to be tested and approved. Because a 117 CI motor makes too much mechanical noise (max allowed is 88dB) you won't get a registration in Holland. Therefore you have to register it first in for example in Germany (there are a few persons who can arrange it) and then import it to Holland. Then it cannot be refused because of the european laws. So happy to live in Europe:oldlaugh::oldlaugh::oldlaugh::oldlaugh:

Sounds like Finland! There you also have to have the down tube sticker and a CoC (certification of compliance) from factory! HD sell them for their bikes for about 500$.
It is a nightmare.... I try to get one from Matt..... It may just be too difficult. We'll see...

In Poland homolgation is mandatory to obtain by the manufacturer of the vehicle. If someone is making a custom motorcycle or frame only - homologation is obvious. I can import any vehicle with registration (or clear Title) and register it. I need to pay tax, duty and obtain motor vehicle roadworthiness tests at a district vehicle control station ( cost is about 40 euros). Registration of motorcycle at local Department of Transportation (equivalent of US DMV) - about 50 euros.
