Be careful of Ebay, I purchased one from there, they said it was new but chrome wasn't perfect, turns out it was milled too deep for the oil groove and it filled up with primary oil to the point that oil was dripping out the starter, starter was junk:oldangry:
I'm going to send it off to Curtis to fix he can just put a new case on. I have a spare luckily that I am running now because Curtis still has his starter rebuild on hold as he is waiting on parts.

Tell you what, I'd really hate to have to replace the starter on the side of the highway! K9 is a tight fit.

I ended up pulling the exhaust and the clutch actuator cover as well because I couldn't get the damn belt guard off. I'm not sure if stock they used Phillips bolt not sure why it wasn't Allen. One of then was stripped so I guess prior owner had it off at some point. Replaced the Phillips with Allen bolts, although think I'm going to replace those with hex and make it even easier!

I also installed the thunderheart and have it on Setting 3. I am however unsure why it didn't come with the same 1/4 threaded mounting holes like stock. Had to run a 5/16 tap through it, 1/4 was too small.

There must be some differences between 06 & 07.... mine was straight Plug & Play.

Don't get me wrong it plugged and played just didn't mount to the battery box like the stock unit.

Did we ever figure out what the stock timing was? I'm running on setting 3. I really care more about longevity of the engine than pulling extra performance.

Yea it seemed some say 32 others say 28.

I took it for a ride gonna have to run it longer to make an opinion, it did seem to run just fine.

What does the software give you ? Just modify the ignition curves?

Look again.....
24 min -1000
27 min -1100
24 min -1200

1.5 hrs under 1200 RPM I can't be reading that wrong.

Hey and speaking of which can you plug the stock unit and use the thunderheart software to get the timing?

Those readings are from the beginning while jetting & getting the Carb tuned.... that snap-shot only shows the first 4 hours of having the IM in there. (check other readings... I think there are also a couple of Rev Limit Hits, lol.

No, the stock IM is locked from BDM factory... I have been asking about how unlock it... I would be very interested on it because I would be able to know how many hours (and rpm ranges) my bike did in the past!
