Metzlers tire wear

Just messin' with ya, bro. To each his own, and the best of luck. We all have our preferences. I've preferred a few too many vodka drinks tonight.
X2 ! Labor Day !!! Just saying I don't care for the metzlers... It could be other things like bearings or fork fluid but they didn't hold a candle to the Avons and my Dunlop elite on the Pitt has been great

Hey Paul. Just threw a set of Elite 3's on the Pit. Did you encounter any belt rubbing? I've got about .03 at best clearance. Belt hits in one spot. Not sure of a good way to shave the side either. Tried a Dotco and angle grinder. Not good for taking off rubber. May just need a fatter pulley spacer?

Have you ever used a metal file to deburr the sharp edges on a metal, from cutting it? Well if you have a woodworking file or wood rasp, is the same concept except the rasp has bigger teeth to chew the wood quicker.

Mine did rub a bit and had to adjust the alignment on the rear tire a bit. I did not file the tire down and the tire is wearing even

Good to hear. Doug from C.A. Jones told me the factory specs are +/- .125. The dang machinist in me tries to keep them within .005.....lol. I'll have to re adjust.

Never say never, you might change you mind about that after 1-2K miles if you get lucky like some of us did.:oldrant::oldsmile:

Well avon has a registration for their tires with a 15k warranty. I have used Avons in the past and they sure lasted a lot longer and sure as hell didn't show the belt like this.
