04 chopper had it about 3 months...needed some tlc...has the wire plus harness...I was having overcharging issues with the battery, bought a new vr,no more overcharging the battery, sweet.riding home tonight headlight starts to dim and just about shuts off and the bike dies, hanging out on the side of the road woohoo...call my buddy charge the battery for about 15 minutes starts up,made it home....I'm wondering why the bike would have died like that....stator maybe?

If you have the stock iginition you have a dual fire coil just remember that when you order

Have you upgraded the ignition? Most newer ones are sigle fire so you may want to double check your Ignition module before ordering

So,thanx for the replies fellas it really helped.i ended up using the original bdm coil cover and just used a step bit to drill the ignition switch hole larger worked out pretty well.as far as the charging problem goes I had to replace the stator and the vr....I think that fixed the problem.there was a weird screw sticking in the middle of the stator plug,I don't think it belonged there lolimage.jpg

That is the screw to hold the stator plug in place. It operates from the outside... right in front of the primary cover.

See if I can find a pic for you.

Here.... see the hole between the primary and the stator plug? there is where the screw should meet the stator plug....

Further more.... you should not be able to unplug it without first loosing back that screw! How did you removed the Plug? Brute Force or was this screw literally screwed into the plug by the previous owner or mechanic????

Interesting way you ran the plug wires - they come out from under the coil from the factory.
Do they not touch the rocker? They will prob melt If they do touch even if its just on a bump.
