Been using Amsoil till now and very happy with it... it has become harder to find near me so I shifted to
Spectro heavy duty platinium full synthetic oil, sae 20w50

There is a reason manual says no syntetic, unless you don't mind slipping clutch. There are a many threads about oils, should be easy to find with search

Wonder how much performance boost different oil could really give

I don´t think oil is about "Performance Boost" but about taking care of your motor!

and I tell you what, I don´t know what oil my K9 had in it when I first got it but its rocker boxes sounded like a sewing machine... I went to Amsoil and all noises stopped!

Unless you are using the Magnatec? http://www.castrol.com/en_us/united...nthetic-motor-oil/gtx-magnatec-motor-oil.html

And this type is only available n the following grades: 0W-20, 5W-20, 5W-30, 10W-30.

If you want to use Castrol, the one you should be using would be this one: http://www.castrol.com/en_us/united...l/4-stroke-engine-oil/power-rs-v-twin-4t.html
POWER RS V-TWIN 4T Engine Oil

Its to my understanding that oil for motorcycles has zinc in it. Which automotive oils don't. We need the zinc!

Well, my charging is working, I have no shorts, my battery is in good shape. I can have both my Dogs standing about a month without charging and both fire up OK. -03 even without compression valves....
