I hear Carlos and the stud stretch. Here's how I would approach it. I'd measure my exposed head stud threads as far as who is stretched more than the others? If they clear as in equal height, my test is to spin the head nuts on next. Are they free sliding or do they hang as they spin on?
First few threads would hang up the turns, so this would mean both nut and studs are junk. If they spin on, that says no stretched studs or nut damage. Next part to think about is my [stretch] save of not loading the 90°. Add the crush to both gaskets [give] also keep that stretch at bay.
That says I am good to go, no stretch at the threads, nuts fly on, 90 sort of helped reuse the studs and nuts. Just for hee-hees, if I told you a guy slaps his engines together, does not us the same bolt or nut back into the same hole, etc., and the engines stay together under racing conditions, still beats the competition. So much for matching parts back together.
