2007 K9 Electrical Problems - GONE!

I was having major problems with the stock EHC on my 2007 K9. After consulting the forum here, replaced it with DOC's ESC from DeadOneCustoms. It was a bit more pricy then the others but Jeff was simply amazing. When I spoke with him he actually recommend several trouble-shooting items to do before purchasing. Of course, we had already tried them all as a result of checking the forum here.

Started Saturday 02 August, finished up Sunday. The reason it took about 15 hours was because we shrink wrapped ever connection (tested, retested, cleaned) to eliminate any future problems (a recommendation from DeadOneCustoms of course). Straight forward install (literally a one-for-one swap out, how much easier, none DeadOneCustoms has this to an exact science, please believe cause we had zero experience). Only problem we had was the stupid light fixture O'ring(s) removal. Rode all afternoon Sunday, absolutely no problems. Before I could not even start the bike consistently. It even seems like I've actually increased the horse power a bit. More responsive and does not lag like it used to before the ESC.

Thanks a heap to Jeff for going the extra mile to help out with some minor issues we had during the install. We had NO previous mechanical experience, this truly was "plug-n-go". This forum was a great place to get information from other BDM owners. Thank you all.

Great Forum, Great Result, Go Big Dog,

Sounds good. Got any pictures of the install neighbor.
I'll have to review the pic history. I don't think I have any with the new ESC installed just some of the old one for reference during the install. Your right though, I should have captured the stages of the install. Darn. I was so excited to replace the old EHC. If I have new ESC I'll upload this week. Thanks for the reply.

Paul, watch out for Ker.... he has his eyes on your new gas cap!!!

Now on a serious note.... @Bdm4ever keep us updated on that system.

BTW..... I keep saying it (to see if it fries itself once for all) but... I am still running the original EHC with zero probs.

I did buy a spare from :D 2-3 years ago just in case but no need for it.....

Anyone needs an EHC? I will let it go cheap..... $500

I have installed the ESC in my '09 Ridgeback and it was a simple swap out. The directions were spot on and no issues at all. The only obstacle was having to cut a relief into the seat pan as the connector sat high due to where the battery box houses the EHC, ESC now, but that worked out great using a roto zip and hittn up hobby lobby for the material to cover the seat pan. Dead is a good guy to work with.
