I have a few friends that have gone, although I am still a Sturgis virgin, while contemplating a trip this year and after several discussions with it being the 75th yr anniversary, expected 1.2 mil people, some of the people I know that are going are now backing out. As much as I would like to go, I think the overwhelming crowd with it being an anniversary year might ruin my experience with crowds and wayyy too many people, not to mention, a buddy also told me they are closing down the main street strip, so there wont be any parking except for side streets and stuff, so Im gonna bow out.. Call me what you will (Insert Adj and/or Noun here), but for a first timer, just doesnt seem ideal...

Your very smart! Sturgis is a wonderful experience! For the best of both worlds we arrive 3 days before the rally and stay for 7 days so we have 4 days during the rally. We ride the shit out of the Black Hills for the first 4 days. The traffic is basically non existent! Then we do runs to the Badlands or Hullet WY, Sundance...ext. During the week of bike week the deeper into the rally the more people are pouring in. During the rally Thursday, Friday and Saturday the Black Hills are bumper to bumper. I can not even imagine how fucking over packed it is going to be this yr! On an average yr at One Eyed Jacks it's usually 1-2 people deep at the outside bars. It will be stupid crazy this yr. we are opting to go else where this yr. we have been to Sturgis 11 times and will go again in 2016!

I am from South Dakota and yeah this year is gonna be unreal!!!! If youve never been here for Sturgis dont come this year as it will most likely ruin the experience. I always go for the whole week but this year only doing a cpl days as gonna be way to many people. If any of you out there wanna do the three state ride we always do that on Tuesday for Topless Tuesday in Alzada, MT then drop down to Devils Tower in WY then to the Stonehouse in SD. Helluva a ride.
