Gas Light??

Energy One
Yep...

I was that guy last night... No gas light, and thank god I had just gotten over from the fast lane to exit the freeway headed home, and it started sputtering...

Coasted down the off ramp and rolled across the street into a gas station...

So... Without having a service manual for this, and not clocking miles, obvious the low fuel light is what I was banking on to let me know when it was time and it failed me...

So what do I check, how do I check, wheres the sensor... you know.. all the good stuff so I can fix it to make sure I get the low fuel light....

Is your bike an efi and if so has anyone changed out the ehc for another unit. I had an 07 Bulldog that was efi and changed to the wire plus and they sent me some resistors to wire in to get the light to work. Sorry for the rambling. If it's not an efi you will have a three position switch coming out if the tank and no idiot light . 0n, off, reserve. hope this helps

Sorry for not being helpful

I remember Kap posting about which electrical system you have based upon what's under your seat... I snapped a pic before I left for the airport, so maybe some can tell...

Take another pic, but with that fuse aside... we need to see what´s underneath right there.

(Is that fuse a LEDS lights?, mine had the same)

I installed a Dakota digital speedometer and just hit trip meter every time I fill up. Go about 130 miles that better be looking for gas station.

The previous owner wired in those kuraykan speakers, plus it has a Scorp alarm, so I'm guessing it's one of those.. There's also a big black ignition box looking thing, prob 3"x3"X1" under the forward part of the gas tank that says Rev 2... But don't know if that's part of the speaker deal.. Just boarded a plane, I'll grab a pic when I get home Friday afternoon

There is a thermister in the fuel tank that has one circuit that is wired into the VFI module.

Then there is output circuit from the VFI to the light in the tach.

I would start by identifying and verifying the integrity of those two circuits.

If ok, you can check the resistance of the Thermister to verify it. They are available from S&S, but you have to remove the tank and fule pump assembly from tank.

The two grey little boxes are circuit breakers! Kinda odd that you have two, so some wiring was done, maybe LEDs? The USB plug should go to your EHC for when the dealer pulled info from the bike. Not sure what the white casing for that fuse goes to!
