Show Me your LED Install pics

Energy One
Hey guys...

Would like to see some up close and personal pics of your LED accent light installs, mounting and locations...

Looking to see how and where you mounted your lights, how you did you wires for the cleanest looking install....

So here's my thought, Ive don't plenty of searches for the LED's on here, people have shown pics of the LED lights, but a few have asked for Installation pics, and nobody has posted any...

For my K9, im particularly interested in how they did the front wheel and back wheel...

Based upon looking at the bike, it looks like the fender bracket that is attached to the fork looks idea, which is why I wanted to see exactly where they are mounting them.. Same goes for the rear...

The common spots are obviously under the tank, ignition, carb, batt box, lower frame...

But i'd like to see everyone interpretation of wire hiding and clean look installs so I have a better idea when/if I do mine...

I'm still a couple weeks away for installing mine. Pick up some green ones to match the bike. The ones I just took off, were mounted under the fuel tank and oil tank. I'll post when the new ones are on.

I know ledglow has some youtube videos with generic placement. Haven't seen any specific to Big Dogs.

Yes, LED lights aren't for everyone.. Designed for Show, not go... If done properly, they can make a bike pop.. not that these need much pop.. But at night... Theres nothing like the reflection of LED light across all that polished aluminum and chrome that doesn't get the wow factor when the sun goes down...

Here in AZ, every weekend literally 2 miles down the road at the Pavillions they have a car/motorcycle show.. The entire parking lot is reserved and coned off every Saturday night. Free participation, everything from old school kool, muscle, antique old timers, 4x4, performance, ricers, you name it, its all sectioned off by class, you pull in park, enjoy the company, walk around, hang out, get some food, and look at the cool and not so cool pieces people brought...

The Spaniard
Yup, I must admit the leds do turn heads while cruising on the waterfront in summer.... I do have them... its like a Xmas tree! they already were on the bike when it arrived to Spain... I just had to hook them up again after the inspection... :D

(you can see some under the tank on my signature pic)

I actually talked to an officer once, although he wasn't completely versed in the "Law" he did state the obvious... No Red/Blue, and it cannot extend forward of the motor or rear tire...

Ill have to check again, this was a few years ago when I put them on my ricer, then pulled them off cause they were cycle gear junk.. But the cool thing was I bought the control module that allowed up to 4 individual on/off connections, so I could turn on different parts of the bike...

I believe here in AZ, you can run your Motor lights, without issue, assuming no red/blue, but nothing on the front/rear tires....

Installed 10 seperate strips on my 07 Bulldog with everyone hidden. I have a strip on each frame side on the very bottom, held on with black zip ties to hide. One set under each fender, two strips under the gas tank, one behind oil tank, and one behind air intake cover and one on underside if seat bracket. Have one left! I sed custom dynamics. They have a glue side but with the black zip ties it hides well. Bike in storage for winter sorry no pics

When you say fender... are you putting the strip actually IN the fender along the edge?

Custom Dynamics has those chrome pods, and the L shape on the forks where the fender and support bracket mounts looks like a good spot, but wanted to see if other were actually putting them IN the fender or on the forks facing the wheel hidden in the L..

Sorry for the crappy pics, but the phone doesn't do so well with night photos. Just put on Ledglow 12pc. I have one piece left over that I will either mount under the headlight or under the back of the rear fender.

Locations: One under the top triple tree, two under the gas tank, four on the inside of the bottom frame, one on each battery cover, one under each strut.

Mine had red on it, and I asked here in Missouri, and the cop said it was ok as long as they don't blink.

Its weird, cause it seems like each officer has something different to say, like its their own interpretation of what the state code says...

So I hate to say it... But strolled around AZ Bike week vendor booths and figured I'd check out the LED's vendors had.. There was 3-4 vendors showing/displaying/installing... Honestly.. Wasnt impressed... Dont get me wrong, there was 1 vendor that had the black, thin sealed strips, pretty flat, but the lengths were only good for under the tank and frame.. The sad thing was those were probably the cleanest looking for installing, but the LED output was horrible. They had 2 bikes there with the light on, and it was like they were diffused or dull.. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say maybe they were set that way as part of a breath or fade and stopped at the 1/2 brightness, but again, still wasnt impressed. The chameleon ones were impressive either.. Honestly just didnt get the WOW factor out of any of them, yah they looked decent, but honestly, if youre gonna put LED's on, I want WOW Factor, cause if you dont get that, its just seems cheesy...

Ok Rant over...

I placed led's under the tank, one under the coil/ignition cover, two (one above, one below) on the back of the carb backing plate that the air filter cover screws to, one under the battery box (shines down on top of the starter and engine), two strips, one each side, under the engine. I ran the strips along the top, inside of the frame on each side and they provide a lot of ground light. I placed leds on the inside of each brake caliper, these reflect nicely of the rims, and I added a strip on the inside of the belt guide, which also provides alot of light on the right side of the rear rim.

When I get home, I'll post pics.
