Rear tire wear???

Energy One
Misalignment. With my 04 Pit I could never get the alignment quite right, until I tore it down and aligned the motor Trans and rear tire at the same time. Runs true and has even wear (for Kansas anyway).
:2thumbs::2thumbs:Thank You
I've been saying over and over "alignment, Alignment, Alignment" but, it seems, no one listens.
I have fixed so many BDs tracking and tire wear problems by simply going back through everything and doing a proper alignment. Some need more some less but its almost always the same thing.

My '05 Chopper had a similar wear pattern that baffled me. Then I realized that the damn swing arm was broken, as is not at all uncommon for the particular year/model that I had. Always thought it strange that there was enough strain on the swing arm bolt to cause it to break, and yet once it broke, the bike would ride for a long distance without a sign of it having broke. You'd think that the swing arm would go let loose, but alas, that was never the case.

Sounds like a pressure point relieving itself.

SKOGDOG

One of the old ones.
Not too long ago I read a post on this topic, and it turned out one rider had a wallet half the size of a hedge apple in his back pocket and he actually leaned a bit to correct for that, causing him to sit off center, hence the the unusual rear tire.....

Oops! Meant to say that the swing arm BOLT was broken, not the swing arm. All the venting previously said, I wish I had kept the bike. Ending up selling it when it needed about $2000 worth of engine work, and got a 2006 chopper made by Proper Chopper with only 800 miles on it. Ended up having more issues than the Big Dog ever had!

I guess for what amounts to as a factory custom bike, you really can't beat the Big Dogs!
