Thanks Franco. You like them Twin Peaks dont ya...lolz. Hope you get your yellow bitch straight and put her back on the road.

I love the color looks like my Ridge lol Who is the belt drive made by? I might have to get one... :D
Thanks Brew. Btw, i really like your Orange Crush photo.

That's an Ultima belt drive Rob, same thing I'm running.
Thats what i thought but i wasnt sure. Shannon, do you have to modified your stock (Baker) transmission to work with Ultima belt? Tranny on my bike is not Baker. I wonder why they switch?

On the Solo controls, they were made by PM a few years back but are no longer stocked. They still have the same shape but without the Solo engraved. Found this out on another site for ya.
Cool. Now i know where to look for. Thanks Bill.

Thats interesting, your not running a Baker trans? I don't think that belt drive would work on mine. I haven't heard of many running them other than Karata or Baker open primaries on the older models. What trans do you have? Ultima or Roadmax maybe?

He probably has a different case with Baker guts. BD did that. Mine has a Jims case, Baker gears and I have an Ultima 3.5 belt drive too. Our bikes are LHD though....

Bill, If he has a different case then someone other than BD did it. Our 05 models came with Baker transmissions, unlike the earlier models that had different cases with Baker guts...:D

Looking at his pics more better it looks like they took the DSSC set up out. That's why the belt system is working on his scoot...

That must have been a lot of work and $$. So in 05 when they went to the RHD they bought Baker trans or did they buy Baker parts and put them together themselves?

Drop Starter Slam Clutch

In 2001 we introduced Right Side Drive (RSD) for ground-up, wide tire customs. Any primary drive setup could be used in conjunction with RSD, but there was a problem. Actually not a problem but more like an opportunity. Using a left side drive primary in conjunction with RSD left a gaping hole between the inside of the primary and the left side of the transmission case; the space once occupied by the left side drive pulley. Our new DSSC primary slams the clutch inward 2.3" into the space once occupied by the pulley; thus the phrase SLAM CLUTCH.

While we were slamming the clutch inward, we rotated the starter down into the vacant space behind the transmission case; thus the phrase DROP STARTER. Lowering the starter in the chassis permitted seat heights to be lowered up to 2.5". It also cleaned up the left side view profile.

DSSC is a complete drivetrain unit consisting of a Right Side Drive transmission and an enclosed primary drive. The inner primary, outer primary, tranny case, trap door, top cover, and pulley shroud are all carved out of 6061-T6 billet. We cut no corners to make this premium drivetrain look like Tiffany jewelry and take punishment from a big inch motor.

DSSC is a complete RSD drivetrain system and is compatible, without modification, with Daytec, Rolling Thunder, Dakota Thunder, and similar RSD Softail and Hardtail frames with zero engine offset and a " left tranny offset. The " offset is built into the inner primary; no spacer required. DSSC is set up for 240/250 tire applications using a 1" belt. 280 and 300 tire applications are possible with a 530 O-ring and an offset sprocket, call for details.

Bill, all Baker for the 05 and up! Both my 05 and 08 have the DSSC set-up. I did some searching and it looks like he's running a Ultima 6 speed on his Ridgeback. That's why the belt drive fits his 05. Your right, someone spent some cabbage for the mods on his scoot, but it looks really good. They did a great job...:D :2thumbs:

Rob, Mr Wright - Shannon wrote a thread on this forum about the Ultima belt drive
installation on his bike. He had to make a little modification for it to fit our 2005 and up bikes.

@Brew: so it is cheaper and less hassle to go with Baker OP instead of getting ultima OP and tranny right? So did Baker not offer OP back in 05? And this was the only option.
