08 Stock EHC - should I replace it?

I just ride it and enjoy. Yes you could have problems, yet the same could happen if you replace it with something else also. Just read some of the issues that have occurred with some of the common replacement from WP, PDM, M-units, RIP, etc.
For the most I personally feel that the vast majority of Stock EHC will work fine if the bike is taken care of, not loaded with a bunch or electronic mods.
All said though, problems can arise at any time with any component, key to lessen is good maintenance, simple pre-ride checks and keep it has designed and be cautious of loading it up with some mods (Lizard lights, HID kits that may not properly designed, hacked alarm systems, etc.) Also cannot over emphasize to keep the battery on a tender if not ridden nearly everyday.
Also when washing, be careful with how the water is sprayed around for our electronics do not like flushing with high pressure nozzles or big stream of water. Still from my experience, sensible washing is not a problem nor rain. Just keep it simple and not over due the hose action.

You can have problems with any of the units as stated above, ride until there's a problem if you have one. If you wash the bike, wrap the hand controls with saran wrap to keep dry. If you add anything like accent lights or alarms, attach directly to battery, and a battery tender is a must if it sits for a couple days at a time.
Otherwise enjoy and run it, I just turned over 15k miles and the original EHC is still in.

3X I had a good running bike and saw all the EHC problem threads and swapped it for a wire plus system. Lasted 200 miles. I wish now I had just rode the bike until I had a problem. Do yourself a favor and just ride it until you have problems then make a decision. Not all the ECH problem threads are the ECH problem. Many are just lose wires. So every once in awhile check your wiring, clean the grounds and it may last a long time.

Ride it and if it gives you problems then look for solutions. It can be an easy fix. There is no reason to believe that one electrical system is better than another.

I'm not sure of that because there wouldn't be so many WP, RIP and PBM threads and posts on electrical problems but ya, just ride it until you do have a problem and then worry about it.
It's a lot like saying "should I dump my girlfriend cause she might get fat"? More than likely you will trade one problem for another.
