OIL filter. If it were only so simple....

I have done some reading up and still have a little confusion.

What is the best filter for my 03 107"? The reusable one that I have seen on here? Or just the replaceable?

I found this on Amazon, seems reasonable, and is by S&S. But I can't confirm if it will fit my engine?

Appreciate any info guys Thanks!

FWIW I run the K&P that Mad Dog sells (Value Teck). Inital cost seems high but after two oil changes its pretty much paid for. Add a Scavenger when you order and you'll get ALL the old out every time. Jmo.

X2, I've got the same one.

The ones Curtis sells seem to be same concept and maybe a bit cheaper.

Thanks guys. $14 for the S&S one shipped, not bad. Maybe this winter invest in the K&P. I have used the reusable ones on motocross bikes for years with good luck.

I've been running the K&N for the convenience of being able to use a ratchet with extension to get it off.

KP is nice for sure and maybe I'll get one some day.

Now the engine in my bike is considered the 'Big Twin' not the EVO, am I correct?
Wait for expert responses but I believe the answer to this is no. It's not a harley motor even though it is like a hd motor. EVO bottom end with twin cam top end if I recall...if you search you'll find some info.

it is an evo style engine and uses a 30 micron filter the 10 micron filters for harley are too restrictive.

You have an EVO engine. It is positively, positively NOT a "Twin Cam". Make sure you do not use a Twin Cam filter or you will be buying a Twin Cam. There are only 2 types of filters, EVO and Twin Cam and the Twin Cam are too restrictive and you will not be moving oil through your engine. I purchased some K&N's because I liked the ratchet idea, but be aware the "chrome" ones are not really chrome. Very dull finish. Just go to the Harley store and buy a chrome EVO filter for simplicity. For me, I've got a lot of toys that need filter changes and I just want to change the oil and move on, not mess with cleaning filters, but that's just me.
