:2thumbs:By the way, if you are having trouble with swelling on the threads (from ethanol), BBChopper (this forum) makes replacement metal threads for your caps so you won't ever have that problem again. They work perfectly. I got a set from him a couple of weeks ago.
The left cap on mine is not vented. If it were when the bike is on the kick stand the gas would run out of it. The vented cap is on the right tank and there is a small vent hose between the tanks close to the top. It is under the dash. Check to make sure a piece of you're tank liner has not come loose and fallen across you're tank feed holes. Good luck.Sounds like the vent is plugged up in the left cap. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the left cap, left hand threads.
Plus one, also I took both caps apart on my 01 Pitbull. Good luck.
Yes the vented cap goes on the right side. It will only thread in one opening.just to verify.....on early model pitbulls, the vented cap is supposed to be on the right side opposite the petcock, correct?
