I did a search and didn't really find an answer but I have read that some members only made it about 3 miles on reserve. My manual says my reserve holds 0.7 gallons and Im getting 33 mpg . I have never ran dry but my math says a lot more than 3 miles?

You are right, I have never run dry but have had to use the reserve position and got gas within 20 to 25 miles, with my fingers crossed and holding my breath. I don't like to push anything that has wheels and a motor.

Depends on how long the tube attached to the petcock extends into the gas tank. Also, the shape of the tank. My reserve only got me 2 miles. That included waiting through 2 stop lights. The tube can be changed for a different length, but the tank shape will be a limiting factor.

Right on. Mine only got me 2 3/4 miles. At 100 - 120 miles you had better start looking for gas....

:2thumbs: X2. I am confident I can go 20 to 25 miles. Every bike is a little different and to be sure you should figure out your mpg and use this number on the total capacity minus the amount to reserve when you fill up right after having to swap to reserve a few times. Or, carry a small can with you and once you swap to reserve, note how far you can ride to empty!

These numbers are different for Highway cruising and city riding. I only get 33 mpg to and from work but 42 mpg on the highway.

I got about 3 to 4 miles when I ran out. Luckily another biker in a truck saw me, pulled over and had a few gallons of gas with him. Nice guy followed me to a gas station. Won't let that happen again.

I am a gas tank empty but on reserve. There is a hill both up and down the road, I can see a gas station but cant go in. You are MPG, I am miles on reserve we are both screwed.

Not sure, I have ran mine out and swapped to Reserve and its always made it to a station... when I fill up its takes 3.8-3.9 gallons on a 2004 chopper.

not sure but i think the tank is 4.5 gallons.

When I bought my 04 the dude told me 3 miles but the 06 has a bigger reserve so hopefully it gets me a station and hopefully it can make it further than 3 miles, lol
Thanks for your comments and I have no idea what Sven was saying! :whoop:
