How can I make these pipes work?

I've had the stock 2n1 pipes on my 03 chopper and have had these exile pipes just sitting here left over from a previous bike and never did anything with them. So today, I said why not? Lets see what the dog looks like with them on and I'm digging the look big time ---- but looks like these (and the brackets they came with) were made for HD frames and not anything with a 250 rear tire. The pipes are pretty close to the frame but I think there's just enough room for a flat l-shaped bracket for both pipes. Rear pipe looks like the passenger peg is really the only place to mount.

Do you guys think it's too close? and where/how do I go about getting some brackets?

p.s. I'm too broke right now to buy another set of pipes....so I REALLY want to make these work!

I'd just look for 2 mounting holes and make brackets out of Alum. Easy to work with and won't rust. If the pipes have heat shields you could use hose clamps and cover them with the shields. Good luck.

it can be done....but to try telling you how to without being there is impossible. leave pipes loose at the heads until you feel like you got them where you want them.. usually ebay has some kind of exhaust bracket that you could adapt easily.. you just need to look-analyze-and get rough measurements to get the closest bracket to what you need and then alter by drilling/grinding/coercing it to work. good luck...the pipes give a nice retro look to the bike - great choice

Demon, Thanks. I'm going to try find a machine shop in town to make something. I like the look and seems I can also slide my passenger pegs folded sideways if I ever put someone on the back. My concern was not having enough room or having them un-aligned just to get them to fit.

Axle bolt is going to take out the upper pipe as it moves up if I am looking at the last pic correctly
