Hey Forum,
I got 08 Big Dog Ridgeback w/ about 5000 miles. A stock speedometer is installed on a bike. Today I noticed that speedometer reset plastic button fell apart. Speedometer still works, but plastic control at the bottom of speedo broke. Interesting that I never even touched it. Do you guys have any idea / suggestions on how to fix it?

Pictures attached.

Unfortunately I haven't seen that grommet available. A few guys have replaced with a cut down vacuum cap.

I had to replace speedo when I first got it,, the whole thing. I don't think it as too crazy high. easy to swap out. The new one still has a moisture issue which I found out is normal.I use that little button to get me into a gas station before I end up pushing it like that other Ray.

Replacing a whole speedo may be a little too extreme, and I still like classic look of the analog gadgets. Replacing a control with a vacuum cap is a clever idea. Will stop by local Home Depot on a way home. Thanks for a suggestion!

Look under all my posts and there is a number to get a hold of autometer and they will send you a replacement button that you can just silicone on. Fixed mine, and it still is working fine. Knock on wood!!! If you can't find the thread let me know and I will dig up the number or website.
