First check the plug on the left front of the motor (the rubber one by the shifter) Pull it off and make sure it's clean and then put it back on with some silicone. Next, you need to check out the voltage regulator. See if it's getting 12v in and putting out amps. Also check your battery wires and the battery. If the battery is over 2 years old it could be cooked.

I could ride for a couple hours and after shutting it off, it would not start, no juice in battery. I got in the habit of carrying a spare battery on local rides. Checked all I could.

My scoots charging issue turned out to be the stator plug, and zip tying and siliconing did not keep it in place. I contacted Curtis at WSW with my dilemma and possibly making me a custom holder. Two days later I had a chrome REG/RECTIFIER PLUG RETAINER installed and not an issue since. Turns out my stator plug coming loose is not uncommon and Curtis had been solving this issue for others for quite some time.

Awesome chrome cover with new bolt delivered in two days at a fantastic price to boot. The plug sticking out is an eyesore and now the cover compliments the scoot.

Lets reverse the engineering so you can figure out watt is who?

BATTERY: I just ran 'total loss' is my battery took a poop. It's not my battery, it had power and DC is its name. :D This is not it of 3 variables.

VOLT/REG: Up to this point, my battery was being regulated and my battery is not super hot as in over charging and smells of acid. This is out of the loop [as is the battery] for now.

STATOR/ROTOR: This is the AC source where current begins. Since it is the 3rd and last variable of the charging loop, it could be a good stator and bad rotor, or vice/verse. I'd begin here in the reverse movement, not necessarily this or that, but more this than that. Get it?

1. Short to ground.
2. Wire not in connector.
3. Connector not connected = Bingo! Bad Bill's variable found.

Where are we at with the stator? Are we short to ground with an ohm meter in the middle of that wire and engine case? No movement should occur we set the meter to infinity.

Where are we in the magnet (rotor) strength? What is the output number, we have an ohm meter at 50v, watching that volt out the wire(s) better be equal between them or junk is the stator, not the rotor. Get it?

Typically there is a circuit breaker between the VR and battery (closer to the positive terminal of the battery). Makes sure that is OK. If tripped it just needs to be popped in or if there is a fuse it may need to be replaced.
