Drive belt

I took my dog to the shop they put belt dressing on it. How in the heck can I was that shit off?

What dumb ass would put belt dressing on a toothed belt? Were you having a belt issue or did they just do you a favor?

Long story started out a simple tire replacement. Got it back and it sounded like shit. So I took it back. They loosened the belt sounded worst. They then got the idea to spray belt dressing on it. Still sounds like shit. Sent the pulley of to SuperMax for rebuilding. I took a scrub brush and soapy water to the belt. Belt dressing is sticky and hold dirt. And I don't think the soap and water removed it all.

And if it is holding dirt and grit what is that doing to you're pulleys?

Fucking them up. I'm a 22 year automotive tech. And would never use belt dressing on a serpentine belt. So why and the hell would you use it on a drive belt? Smfh. Do you think a spraying brake clean on a rag and wiping it down would work? In the automotive industry I'd just throw the belt away and clean the pullies. But that's 60 dollars not 400 hundred.

I would make them buy it. Acetone will clean you pulley up, but I don't think it would be good on the belt.

ISO alcohol should dissolve the sticky crap. Won't effect the belt.

Jackasses....Belt dressing is only used on V-belts not cog type belts - idiots!!!

Add you about a foot to the front of that table and get you a better wheel chalk, before you loose that dog off the table. A couple of guys on here have already dropped theirs. I have the same table, and love it. when I extended mine, I torched out a plate, and bolted it in the existing holes in the table. A few guys on here welded the extension on. I also lift the back of the bike and put a block of wood under the frame.

I'm going to weld extensions to it. I'm going to notch it with a cut off wheel then weld some supports then a plate. I just wanted to see if it would fit I let it down before I went home didn't have time to clean the belt.

You might try mineral spirits for cleaning the belt. It cleans the white walls on my harley up really well and has no adverse affects on rubber.

Thanks everyone I used brake clean with no clorine and a clean shop rag and cleaned in between the teeth and the top really good no more sticky shit. Btw belt and supermax pulley make no noise.
