Learned out how to cut threads on my 80 year old lathe today.:2thumbs:
New thread stock to replace that plastic Landmark Crap!!! All my caps will have these aluminum threads going forward.:2thumbs:
If anyone has a left hand paint saver they can spare I need one for R&D....I already cut both right and left hand thread stock!
These will have a free vent like the ones Jake used sell, also going to make them adaptable to the stock cap!

R&D Almost Done!

Ok I have HMAN's RH and LH almost done. R&D means pain in the azz!!! Here are shots of my old stock cap adapted over. It's easier to make my threaded part fit "A New cap" from scratch but no one seems to want to spend the $$ on a one off so I'm trying to help out. Still have a couple things to work out and tools to buy. Not sure what the conversion is going to cost but probably around 50 bucks, thinking of doing a "Reman" set up too. I send my cap polished up like new you send your old cap back for around 75 bucks. By the way I aint greedy these two took 4hrs to make and they aren't polished, that's less then 15 bucks an hour, Im just trying to make to spending $ for my Dog. My new job pays the bill's and keeps me home but thats about it.

Looks good. I'm interested but I am still trying to get my left cap off my 04 Pit Bull. I have used a vise grip and the whole thing just spins. WTH!

Any suggestions

If it is just spinning the steel peg has stripped the plastic out! Dont know an easy way to get it out usually the thing sticks and the paint saver spins out with the cap. probably have to destroy the cap to get it off by drilling down through the cap and putting a pin/screw driver down through and turn it out.

:2thumbs: BB :2thumbs:

I'm interested as well but could you just send the threaded part to overseas buyers as the postage x2 sort of kills the good deal? (that way we don't have to send nothing back to you)

Thanks
Paul
