I have a 2006 Pitbull with a 117 motor, and when I shut it down, oil comes out of the bottom crank vent. I checked my oil level In the sump, and its good. What do I do????? besides put a bucket under it LOL.

Clean you oil pump screen
Thanks for the fast reply. Are you talking about the tappet oil filter screen? If so I took it out & cleaned it... It was clean, but cleaned it and blew it out anyway. The oil still puddled on the floor after that. Also have a new K&N 107 oil filter on it. leaked before and after oil change.

Read ALL THE INFO on this site!
It might help you.

Paul.
Well spent the whole day reading just about every post here. Did learn a lot, but still no answer to my problem. One thing I m wondering is... S&S and the BD manual says to use a 30 micron filter not a 10... That being said, the K&N 170C does not list what micron rating it is, but a lot of guys no here use it without problem. The bike only pours out like 5cc's of oil after shut down. I was wondering if the 171C filter with the anti drain back would help???

I had a similar problem after riding for a long period at cruising speed. My local BD dealer told me there are two fixes for this.
1. Ride at a higher RPM.
2. He told me that there is a cam swap available to keep the oil from pressurizing and pushing out the vent.

You can call Gateway Cycles of St. Louis and ask for Tim for details on the cam swap.

I've been riding at a little higher RPM ( not upshifting so quickly) and I've not cleaned oil since.
