Clutch Cable Yellowing

Energy One
I could be wrong but the outside of the cable doesn't mean anything and discolors due to exposure. The inside of the cable is what matters make sure it is lubricated .

I think Paul is right on. It's the inside that counts. Keep it lubed and if you don't like the way it looks replace it. Beautiful bike by the way. Screw the outside of the cable and spend the time in the seat.

it's discoloration from the lubricant, either the cable lube or the grease on the ball and ramp, so its gonna happen. replace at your discretion, but imho, it ain't hurtin' anything.

Here is my guess to where the yellowent when you brush your teef wit pep sea dent. See the chrome cable end extended out from the trans? That's:

1. Oil coming out of the trans, down the cable, and oh look, the cable is lower than the trans so oil has to be at the lowest point. That's about all she wrote for cable lube, which ends at that belly. To lube cable you shoot down both outside splits of the cable... is to lube from the top, down to that second split knowing the belly has oil so not so much down the second cable half.

2. The sun weathered that cable and, oh look, the cable goes from yellow back to white. Can't be the sun or my eyes are playing tricks on the pea teen ya think? Sun would have peed on the throttle cables too and turned them yellow like my teef, if anything looks peeteenya'd.

3. I'll take, 'The farther down to white the farther away to cooling off away from case and chrome cable end giving off heatransfer to the plastic' for 200 dollars, Alex.

4. Oh don't listen to this nutcase, change the cable to black so you don't seeeee, oh look at the nice clear plastic throttles and oh look a black cable to uck things up, but oh look, AIN'T MY BIKE, do what you want. :hi:

5. You go on the net look day fuk out getting some wild ant sir, who is dis guy, deep see sea pea? Maybe too much salt water swallowing it crystallized part of the cranium, but isn't the walk up to the bike and take another look don't turn around salt pee tear?

Thanks, was inspired by your comment on the seat. Removed, cleaned and resprayed the backing with Super 77 glue. All nice and neat now.:2thumbs:
