05 Pitbull wont start

I have a 05 pitbull, started it up for this year, battery been trickeled all winter
Fresh gas, started it, but wont turn over.
Carb is getting gas, yellow lght on EHC is on, power to lights and speedo is on, starter is turning, but the light for starter on EHC isnt lit up green.
Any ideas?

So got a couple of questions. You said it wont turn over but you said the starter is turning. I am guessing it cranks but there is no fire or will the bike not even crank over?

If it cranks but no fire when you hit your run button make sure the red LED on the ignition module lights up. If it doesnt then disconnect the ignition module connector with the red, green and black wire in it. On the bike side of the connector take a volt meter and when you hit the run button confirm you have 12vdc there. If you dont then its a voltage supply issue to the ignition module from the EHC.

If the bike wont crank over at all and you are not getting the green LED on the EHC to light up when you hit the start button then disconnect the green starter solenoid wire from the starter solenoid. With the key on and not hitting the start button you should have around 9vdc on that wire. When you hit the start button you should have 12vdc on it. If you do not then its a voltage supply issue from the EHC to the starter solenoid.

Either scenario could be a damage wire between either area and the EHC or it could be a lack of input from the RH PCB and the EHC or it could be your EHC decided to go toes up on you.

Yes it cranks over, but no fire, sorry about the wording.
The ignition light is solid red on, and i just noticed also there is a red/blue lights flashing on right side. Not sure what that metal small thingy is.

That metal thingy is your ignition module. Are you sure your getting gas? Because that Yellow/blue light blinking means your coil is hitting. Move your fuel petcock to off on and reserve and back to on and try to start it. Give the throttle two twist and try it.

Yes, gas is flowing out of carb, and sparks plugs had gas on them, took them out thinking maybe flooded, to air out.
I did notice the the 3 wires ,blue/red/yellow at coil were lose, tighten up, but battery is drained from starts, have to let trickler re charge.

When starting up bike, what lights on EHC should be on? I have only,
Power up is on:Yellow
Ignition: Red

Should starter : Green be on or what ?

Basics: Fuel, Air, Battery, Coil/ Spark=Ignition

Sex/Drugs/rock n roll

If you has gas in carb and yellow and blue light falshing on ignition module then i would check to make sure you have spark and put in new spark plugs.

Normal starting
Turn on key: no light
Run button push: red light and red on ignition( metal box)
Press start: red blinking and yellow and blue are flashing.

I understand that you stated fresh gas but has the carb had old gas sitting in it all winter. Could be a gummed up carb or a stuck float. Just throwing it out there.

Im am not trying to confuse people, but i got 2 private messages
I have the older EHC, not the 16.
But the only green light i have on EHC is the starter.
I was told by one person, yes when you hit the start, the green light should be on, along with yellow power on, and ignition red on.
2nd email person said no, green starter should come on, just yellow power on and red ignition only light when start button is hit.

As of right now,

Inserted key and turned: speedo, headlight work. The ignition module has red light on, the EHC has yellow power on, ignition red is on only at EHC.
I pressed the start button, the blue/yellow lights at igntion module blink.
Keeps trying to turn over but nothing.
There is a smell and mist of gas in carb, then it seems like alot of gas drips out of carb.

Float is fine and not sticking, new EKG Plugs, no gas in bike all winter. New gas.

One of these then, lack of 12vdc to the coil, bad coil, bad plug wires but chances are it would be one only and it would fire on one cylinder, bad spark plugs but once again chances are it would be only one and fire on one cylinder or lack of compression on a cylinder but it would probably fire on one cylinder.

I would start with voltage to the coil...

When check a plug for spark, remove plug still with cable on, take the threaded part and ground to a fin on jug, ? Can i hold the rubber boit, and not get jolted ?

yes and yes. Did you get any spark on both side?

Ok, found out what was wrong,

The red/yellow wires at coil were
deteriorate at eye hook. Re-did connection and it fired up, but reving so high its shaking the bike all to hell. Like bike was going to blow up.

If someone writes back about carb setup, and idle, i have the S&S carb setup,
Word that dont understand:

Idle mixture screw :1 1/4 turns from from lightly seated?
What seated ?

Accelertor adjustment screw: 2 turns counter-clockwise from seated.

Idle speed screw: 1/2 turn clockwise from engagement ?

Whats engagement ?

Seated means screwed all the way in until it lightly bottoms out. Don't tighten just touching

Shaking probably from a fouled plug ? Run the bike get it warmed up cleaned out then maybe replace the spark plugs.

The motor is reving way to fast, almost like its going to blow, it actually blew the exhaust out of its joint under the drive pully.

There no way i can keep running it this way, to warm up.
