I just took my new 06 out for a ride for the first time, only about 15 minutes. So far I am impressed , the bike has some serious power although it backfired at decel . Ill tune it up and see what happens. I am going to have an awesome summer!!

I just realized Im missing the button or whatever is suppose to be on the trip button for the speedo, just a lil plastic shaft protruding out of it push it in and it works bit there must be something missing?

Glad you like the ride. For the decel popping, try the easy stuff first. S&S has a very simple carb tuning video on their website, it'll probably fix you up.

If u have aftermarket pipes check and make sure previous owner didn't remove the baffles. That will make it pop too

make sure the manifold nuts are tight, mine was doing that and got about half a turn out of each and it stopped. and my bike lost that piece on the speedo also, it originally had a cheap rubber cover on it that wore out fast.

Thanks for the links Franc and I just check there is baffles in the exhaust and also the bolts are pretty tight although I did get a little more out of the front cylinder , hopefully that's it .

After I checked the 06 I checked the 04 I am selling and the bolts were way loose , I tightened them and it seems to be starting much better , I don't know how much of an effect it would have on starting? ??? Could that have been the problem the whole time , hard sarting and starter kicking back????
