08 Pitbull Seat Removal and Battery Replacement

Does anybody know where to purchase the entire maintenance manual? I need to replace my battery in my 08 Pitbull. I do not want to remove unnecessary parts on my seat to get to the battery, and apparently the battery is somewhat less than obvious to remove so I would appreciate any methodic guidance. Thanks!

You have two chromed bolts on the back of the plate underneath the spring seat. Just unbolt these and you can lift up the hole seat and you will get to the battery.

Thanks, to everyone. I just opened the tool box and figured it out.
Use a 1/4 drive metric set (10mm and 11mm sockets with a 10 in. extension, new battery.
Step 1: Remove two pin bolts under the front of the seat near the small end of the gas tank
Step 2: Remove lip from mount and place padding between seat and tank
Step 2.1: Remove rear seat bolts (2 ea.) Note: Be very careful to maintain positive control of the washers as the can easily slide down into the frame well.
Step 3: Remove right bolt from the right battery cover (fiberglass / plastic) to access the battery security strap (metal). Remove the plug (black plastic oval) to reveal the second bolt under the right rear side of the seat. This plug can be removed with a very small flat tip screw driver or something similar to that size of a tip. Remove battery cover.
Step 4: Loosen battery strap and bend it back out of the way
Step 5: Remove the negative terminal first marking all wires as you remove them and then the positive with white paper tape. Right side has 5 wires and the left has 4 wires.
Step 6: Remove the battery and reassemble in reverse order.

Im trying to follow these instructions and have spent the last several hours just trying to get the 2nd pin bolt out. I have never had to change the battery myself, but it has only had to be manipulated one place and that would have been back in 2009 or 2010. Don't know what they did putting that bolt back but I can neither get it completely out screw it back in. I tried to cheat by disconnecting the springs from the base of the seat but I dont think I have the right tools that will keep me from gouging the paint. For that matter it looks like I will catch hell just getting the rear seat bolis out without gouging the paint and chrome. Any tips?

The simple solution does not work. one side came out easy; the other shoulder bolt is stuck is stuck. real frustrating. Im trying hard not to scrape the paint or completely strip out the head.

First thing, get ya some painters tape and tape off all exposed paint that you dont want to scratch. A pair of needle nose vise grips should let you grab that bolt. You may have to end up using an ez out. If you go that route, I recommend GRABITTS broken screw removers. Lowes gots em. A little time and patience should get ya there. Looks like your gonna have to replace the bolt anyways. (Sometimes you can drive a larger (metric?) allen wrench into a stripped head?) Good luck.

Several years later; life getting in the way since this original post....one of the bolts is stripped. Battery is still not changed. Is it possible to remove the bolts from the rear of the plate under the spring seat to swing the cover up? COVID-19 has given me more time to get at my to do list.
