Start Module upgrade??

Hi guys,

Does anyone know if we can still get the Start Module that was an upgrade on the 2002 and prior bikes?
The part number was BD4120-1
Is there any reason why I couldn't just use a normal relay? I know this module had overload protection and an LED for fault indication but we may not need that stuff

If you have a 2002 and earlier you can remove it.
It takes a couple changes in the wiring but that's it.
I just upgraded a 2003 with the older style Thunderheart EHC and deleted the start module with no issues.

So did you just use another type of external relay?

The starter relay is actually built into your Thunderheart EHC.
However, I didn't like how far the run was for the solenoid wire so I put in a remote 4 pin relay to take the load off the EHC.
