Wires Plus and BDM PDM

I know this has been discussed probably a 100 times before but I had a wrench thrown into it all yesterday. I stopped at Werner Cycle yesterday who had been a Big Dog dealer since 2000. Talked to the lead mechanic who had been working on Big Dog since then and he had quite a few kits of both Wire Plus and PDM in stock. $690 for WP and $725 for PDM. I talked to him about losing the self cancelling and 4 way flashers using the PDM and he told me that is not true, even tho BDM rep told me it would. He said he has literally installed 100's combined of both and he said every BDM kit he installed kept these features funtional. Anyone have a clue why this might be the case? Thanks!

I've got the PDM kit installed on my bike and you loose the self cancelling and 4-way flashers.

I have the wire plus on my 04. I still have the self cancelling turn signals but lost my 4 ways and the brake light that use to flash 3 times when applied.

Anyone that says they installed 100's of any combination of BDM/WP kits is full of it.

My suggestion, have him put his money where his mouth is and get it in writing that if you do lose those two features, which he says you won't lose, you should get everything for free.

Yip i hear ya, thinkin same thing when was talkin to him bout gettin it in writing but that is fine cuz I would install myself anyway. He just really thru a loop in everything when he said that. I think the '100's' he reference to were all WP but a couple of the PDM. THanks for responses!!!

I have the PDM. Kept flashers, lost self cancelling. Had to replace the PDm at the 360 day point. Thank God it was a week later. Would have cost me several hundred $$. I love the PDm, but I really hope it doesnt go out (again...)

I know this is an old thread, but it was definitely helpful. I just got my K9 this week and was wondering why the turn signals didn't self cancel. The seller told me he upgraded the wiring harness and I thought something was wired wrong. 20 years ago I wouldn't have cared, but I haven't ridden anything that didn't self cancel in years. Gotta remember to cancel that blinker. I'm on the Big dog learning curve.:lol:
