Curious. My last bike was a 1200 sportster, with shoulder high drag bars, and a solid mounted motor. loved riding it, BUT i will say on the open highway at 75-85mph the wind was pretty good, and the vibration would wear on your hands.

Now that bike was a 5 speed so it was wound up a lot higher too then a 6 speed. so vibrations may be a lot different.

so what do you guys thing about vibrations and wind around that speed? does the high tank block any wind? hows the RMPs and vibrations at that speed?

Definitely get a lot of wind at those speeds but it's easily manageable. Put a removable windshield on it for your highway rides. Vibrations, in my opinion are minimal.

Not as bad as I would have though. But still sone see myself doing that. I was jsut curios if the bike being strected up and out in front of you blocks any of the chest wind or not.

Well I think the tank and lamp do block some of the wind. Might be I’m just so happy riding I like to feel that way…

the wind is dramatically less on my Mastiff than my Fatboy, I would guess the K9 is even better

WAY less wind on my K9 compared to my Road King. I had to put a windshield on the Harley.

Trust me, I took him to 120 no problem on my ole 1200. I am sure the new bike will not have a problem.

I can ride a dirt bike all day, its not the end of the world here, i was just curious how the wind and vibration was with the 6 speed

To be honest at 75 and above the wind does beat you pretty good. If you wear a helmet get one that will not catch as much air and I wear a du-rag over my nose and mouth. I have a windshield for the K9 but I don't use it much. The windshield does make a difference with the wind though on the interstate. I've made a couple of trips up to Little Rock with and without the windshield, its 300 miles of interstate riding. A lot less wind with the windshield. We ride more back roads than interstate so I just don't use the windshield much. If all your riding consist of riding to the bar you really don't need a windshield anyway. As far as rpms I think I'm running 3000 rpms at 80 mph. Some people really make a big deal about windshields on a chopper. I like them with or without windshields, doesn't matter to me.

After a few long rides I have decided to rather put the money in a good helmet than a windshield. My buddy swear to his windshield but to me a new Arai helmet will be a better solution. I always ride two up and the Bluetooth com as well as the music is pretty much worthless above 75. Windshield is cheaper though....

My K9 definatley blocks a little more wind than the Bulldog. But at the same time 75 to 85 mph winds is like standing in the face of a catagory 1 hurricane,After awhile, it'll start to beat on you.

Mine had a windshield on it when I bought it, hated the looks of it and it didn't do much for me, wind still hit me in the chest.
