Dropping the Dog off to Dead One in VA

Guys, I am really sorry my post stirred up this firestorm. I do not know the in's and out's of what happened other then what I have read here in this post. I do not want problems with anyone. I enjoy the support this forum has provided especially when I was stationed in Europe. You all were so helpful and I appreciate that. I try to support VENDORS on this site before going anywhere else. Please understand that I am just trying to find the closest mechanic available for my Dog that knows the in's and out's of the Dog. I tried somewhere else and it did not work out so I moved on. I need to be able to get on my dog and know at least screws are not going to fall out within the first 150 miles. I hope you guys can find a common medium and work from there. Spring is upon us. Time to ride. Thanks again for all your support.

as said before, something like this is inevitable. i'm sorry it happened on your post also, wish it didn't ever have to happen. but, it has happened before and more than likely it will happen again, so DO NOT beat yourself up about it. that being said, no matter who you decide to take the skoot to, i hope they do you a most excellent job and give it back to you completely trouble free. riding time is too precious to loose out because you feel unsure of your ride. i think DOC will do you a good job.

Andrew, sorry to hear about your sister being back in the hospital, depression is a tough hurdle to jump.

As a side note, I drive 6 hours every weekend during archery season to hunt in Ohio. If Andrew was within that distance, I would not be looking anywhere else for a mechanic if I needed one. A road trip for quality service is worth every mile covered!

Guess I adjusted my EFM out of reach. It barely pulls now.

Assuming you're talking about an EFM autoclutch... have you contacted EFM? And, if so, what did they say?

Got the Dog back. Took it for a nice ride to Colonial Beach yesterday and it is running great. DOC did a great job getting it back up and running. He really know his way around the Dog. I had a few issues with the dog before taking it there.
1. Turn signal indicator was not working. (Replaced the board as my old one was corroded probably from bad sealing and living near the beach in Italy for years.
2. Installed new clear headlamp with skull in the center. Beautiful new look clean light. (Just need to find a solution for the high beam). It is still the old yellow look.
3. EFM Auto clutch was out of wack. (What ever adjustments DOC did, it is pulling like a true dog now).
4. Replaced tranny fluid with (I think it was spectro recommended by DOC). Big difference so far.
5. Replaced the signal light covers with the chrome tinted he had on hand (awesome look).
6. Minor adjustments to the XXX carb.
7. New Arlen kick stand (My stock was on its last leg and I had no idea eventhough I wondered why the bike was leaning lower and lower lately).
8. I am not getting the V&H exhaust scraping in right turns anymore (I am not sure what he did to that, but thanks).

Overall, I am happy and the dog is alive just in time for some good weather. If all goes well this summer with the dog, my winter mods will be one of Ron Pogue's Tank and fender modifications.
