Homemade chrome plated sissy bar. What do you think?

Just got my sissy bar back from Space Coast Plating. I built it out of 5/8" cold rolled steel, threaded the ends, heated and bent it to the shape I wanted, cut the angle on the ends and welded it together. Grinding and filing the weld was a real PITA but it turned out pretty good. I was kind of copying BBChopper's style sissy bar he makes. I'm just not sure if I like the K9 with or without a sissy bar. Have to wait until I get the bike out of the livingroom to decied. What do you guys think? It would be nice to tie a bag of some kind to it.

Nice work, want a job?

As for the bag, how are you going to have it sit above your rear guard?
Dual seat, pussy pad, make something like the BDM clamp on arangement?
Can't wait to see the final outcome.

The pussy pad still fits beautifully on the back. I have several bags I have collected over the years that I think will attach to the sissy bar and not contact the fender. Just want to attach a small bag for extended rides.

Looks awesome! Way to make it your own! Nothing like fabricating something yourself and having the good feeling of something coming out right and looking cool!

This is exactly why I made my own!

Well done!!
