As I stare out at the gd snow and wait for my second season with my Big Dog I realize I really love this bike. I catch myself walking out the the garage just to look or polish something for awhile.
This is my 8th bike and I've only loved 2 others - my first Harley ('96 Spring new) and my Victory Hammer. I had always wanted a custom pro street and I began my search last winter. I initially thought I wanted an American Ironhorse Slammer or Outlaw. Really liked the '07 Slammer.
After looking at all sorts of different customs I began discussions with a salesman at Jamie's Customs last April. They had just sold the last bike I was interested in. He spent quite some time on the phone with me giving me advice. He recommended I stick with a Big Dog or American Ironhorse. Others he'd said would likely give me too much trouble.
I found my Dog in May and bought it within 5 minutes of seeing it. It hasn't been perfect - 3 problems, but simple repairs. This website solidifies my belief in making the correct decision. Looks like I'll have all the support I need in the future. I even found out that American Ironhorse doesn't even have it's own forum.
I plan on never selling this bike! Which means I'll need to get a second bike - maybe another Road Glide...
