New 585 Cam Installed

Just got the bike back after installing the 585 cam in the 09 Coyote. All I can say is wow why did I not do this sooner. The sound of the bike is totally different( extremely deeper and crisper sound). The all over power and torque is a real surprise. I am fully pleased with this upgrade and recommend it to anyone who has not already done it. Next is to take it and have it dyno tuned just to get the most out of it. Thanks for all the info guys.

Did you let them bleed down 15-20 mins each and were they (each push-rod) spinning freely on your fingers?

Don't turn it over until you can turn it with your fingers, then move on to the next one. Maybe have to back off to 3 turns if its still tight after 20 minutes

Does your Bike have "travel limiters"? Mine do have them. see attached.

I took the bike over to a friend who is a mechanic and we did the work in his garage. I mainly did all the cleaning of parts and keeping the beer cold. It does help to have someone that knows what they are doing.

Thanks to all that gave me the courage to try this....my mechanic got me the cam and told me to go for it.....

Guess he was OK with rebuilding my engine as well..


PS Pipes are on and torqued....just started snowing!!!

Welder ....did you upgrade the ignition as well?

I would definitely go for it.......did the TH and had it on advance setting 2 with the stock cam and it was a HUGE defference...should be able to bump that up to 3 with the 585.

Definitely $200 WELL SPENT.

No did not upgrade the ignition yet. I will do that soon. I am well pleased with what the 585 upgrade has done for the bike. I will have to check into the TH Ignition

The 585 was also a big improvement in mine. runs great.
Just wanted to add another positive review of the 585

i DID the SAME THING. Had a buddy do my push rod adustments for i could hear the tapping noise, ( i have the tp style rocker box 4 bolt)
