Competent Mechanics in Central Florida

Wondering if anyone has any knowledge of a competent, experienced Big Dog Mechanic in central Florida? I'm in Deland... preferably someone around here, Daytona Beach, or Orlando. I'm having some serious clutch/trans issues, and the place i've been using so far has done nothing but take my money, waste my time, and scratch my bike. They can't seem to get the clutch to not slip, and the last time I talked to them they actually told me that I am the only one who makes it slip... as if I have some kind of mystical anti-clutch function aura. I'm seriously approaching wit's end here. :spank:

Thanks!

Matt,

I've had good luck with King Performance in Merritt Island. One man shop, owner/mechanics name is Jim. He doesn't advertise, just gets his business thru word of mouth. I'll be honest, he is a bit of an ornery fella; doesn't sugar-coat his opinion. That said, I've found him pretty helpful, and he has worked on my bike a bit. He was also generous enough to loan me some tools when I was doing some work on the bike myself; even came to the house when I was too retarded to figure something out.

His shop is about a mile off SR 528, about 10 minutes from I-95. Feel free to PM me if you want more of my $0.02 of my experience there.

Good luck,
chad

Thanks very much, guys. Sounds like there might be a few options. I'm worried about getting the clutch issue sorted, but also really worried about more cosmetic damage in the process. I've been consulting with Andrew (Bigdogtech01), and he has generously offered to walk me through an adjustment as a starting point to remedy the problem... Hoping that they just couldn't dial it in correctly after doing the work... Hate to sound like a pessimist, but I'd be really surprised if the problem ends there. they had it apart three separate times trying to keep the clutch from slipping, busted the main shaft, & scratched the bike... A couple of real scratches (one one the trees from strapping it down to the lift) & swirl marks all over all of my chrome from using dirty rags to wipe off grease (even on parts that didn't need to be touched like the headlight and fork legs).

Sorry you are having the problems. If you need a hand...let me know. Andrew knows his stuff.

Andrew....if you do come to Florida...let me know. I want to buy you a beer or two! Not to mention...you could help me with my primary!
