How did the person blow the motor on that K-9? I mean our scoots come with rev limiters didn't he know he was hitting it?

No, the cause of the failure was actually from BDM building the motor wrong. I will post a pic when I have more time. The pinion gear nut came loose and caused the pinion gear key to fail and actually took out part of the pinion shaft. Because of this, not only does the pinion shaft have to be replaced, but also the heads have to be reworked due to the pistons hitting the valves, pushrods are bent, and might be a few other problems as well.

I didnt know BDM assembled there own engines for there bikes.........I thought they were all built by S&S to BDM specs.......then shipped out to BDM....learn something new every day......

BDM built them up till the end of 2007 I believe. 2008 and up model bikes had 100% S&S built motors from what I remember. This one being a late 2006 (2007 model year) it was for sure built by BDM.
