04 Big dog pitbull HELP

I have an 04 pitbull put a new starter a battery in..but it is hell starting, most times it the starter just clicks, I cant figure it out comp relief valves seem to engage but it is hell to turn over until i put jumper cables on it and it winds over fast and starts right up. What else can i do???

What size battery are you using? Also check your ground.

I've had two 03's, neither with comp releases and with a good battery (330CCA or up), freshly charged bike cranks right up.

Also with the new battery did you charge it before installing?

X2, always charge it first, new does not mean fully charged! :up:
