Well finally got the Sissy Bar finished and mounted on the bike today! Love the look and will get it chromed this winter. For now it looks great and will give me something to strap a bag and to and give the girlfriend a ride with out worrying about her falling off the back!

Just goes to show you that you don't have to spend a ton of money to mod your Dog just do it yourself and take pride in your ride!:whoop:

Thanks for looking!!:2thumbs:

Sissy bar looks excellent! :2thumbs: One question though, are you going to put some type of padding on it your girls back? :D

Yeah I might throw a pad on there for her! LOL

Really not to worried about it tho we are looking for a bike for her anyway so will end up being a sissy bar for me to strap shit to and just look cool!

Thanks for the props guys!

Nice, simple, practical and cheap.

Just like myself really.

Good job.

If it was on my bike here in Australia i would attract the rath of the cops for having something pointy on my bike.

Took the girlfriend for a ride and any thoughts about not having enough room was done away with! Worked and fit perfectly I am VERY happy with the way this came out! Just goes to show you that you don't have to spend an ass load of money to get some cool shit for your Dog!

Next project cool shift linkage.................

Good looking backrest. I admire the dedication to building a true custom. What type of bar or tube did you use for the build? Also, did you use a basic pipe bender for conduit or copper piping?
Thank you.

I used 5/8" Stainless Steel Round for the Sissy Bar itself. For bending I just simply welded two small 1" steel round pieces to a welding table then heated up the Stainless Steel Round and hand bent each bends and held them up to a pattern that I had drawn to specs in order to make sure the measurements where correct.

Thank you for the compliments I love the way it turned out! Don't ever hesitate to at least try and make something your own it is a very fulfilling way to go!!

Wouldn't it be easier to weld the ends of two longer pieces together and bend them at the same time.

Once you get the shape lop the welded ends off.

Just a thought.

Not when your dealing with round steel a lot of bad things could happen there. Trust me was not hard at all doing it this way.
