I called geico and they told me that because i chose the shop and because it was not one of their authorized repair shops i am on my own. The name of the shop is CTM customs out of Easton MD. The sad thing is he is a very talented builder.

Sorry to hear about your troubles.

Maybe they should have made you aware of that fact at the time you selected the shop.

If they haven't fixed it by now they never will, tehy have no incentive. I would go over to the shop and demand your scoot back and all the money Geico paid them plus 1 percent interest for each month they have had the money. If they don't give it back right away, call the police.
And about the insurace response, ask them where your money is. They paid him and not you. You had the damage done, not the shop. It should have only been a two party check if it was financed and one neither one of the parties should have been the shop. Maybe you should call the insurance commisioner in your state.

you are right that he has no incentive to fix the bike I thought about going to get the bike in its current disassembled state but the tins as well as the swing arm are at the painter, and I think he probably owes the painter money which is why the painter has not returned the tins to him. I want to avoid a confrontation for a couple reasons; if i go raise my voice he could say F off and that becomes a dead end very quickly. I work in Law enforcement and it is very easy for situations to get out of hand and put my career in jeopardy, my only recourse might be to get a lawyer involved.

I would. Perhaps you get lucky and find a fellow rider who is a lawyer to send a letter on your behalf. If this guy is that shitty of a businessman chances are he doesn't have a lawyer either. I'd exhaust every possible action available. BBB, letter from a lawyer, news, etc.
