What is the proper way to test the run / start buttons? I did a search for "test start button" and came up empty. It's for my '04 Ridgeback.

Here's one way...
Disconnect the connector on the EHC.
1. On the harness side find pin 39 (there'll be a black wire going to it) and pin 6 (red wire going to this one). Put your trusty meter on the "beep" scale, touch the leads to the pins mentioned then push the RUN button. The meter should "beep" when you press the button.
2. Now try the same thing using pin 39 again and pin 8 (green wire going to this one) but pressing the START button this time. You should get the same results as in the previous test.
3. Lastly, do the same thing using pin 39 again and pin 7 (blue wire going to this one) and then press the OFF button. Again, the results should be the same as in step 1. and 2.

Should I disconnect the battery first or does that not matter? Thanks, I will perform this test in the morning.
When your Doc says yo need a Penicillin shot to fix the burn in your piss do you question him too?

I do if I have to do it with my buddy's needle and if done wrong it could break the needle.I can't afford to buy him another just for the fun of it.

Well I didn't get a single beep/buzz. Well I guess that means that my handle bar switch panel or the wiring between them is bad. Should I next - open up my right hand grip button setup and try to get a beep/buzz from those harness wires to the plug of the grip board?

That's what I'd do. You could take out the screws that hold the PCB in but leave the wiring harness connected if possible. That way you can re-run the test using the same colors as I mentioned before... black to red, black to green, and black to blue. Remember, you should only have a "beep" while you're pushing (and holding) the switches.
If your problem is in the PCB you either have several bad switches or, more likely, the ground is burnt on the PCB. Make sure you take a good look at the PCB when you have it out...

PS Out of curiousity, does your right turn signal and/or front brake light work? If you have a bad ground to the PCB they won't work either...

Ok. Once again, I'll give that a shot in the morning. When I purchased the ridgeback the prior owner gave me an extra right PCB board. I could test this one tonight but without taking my right button set apart to see what color wire goes to what post I'm lost. Do you by any chance know the color order of the plug? Here is a pic of my extra PCB showing the 6 posts.
Right now I have my battery out so I can't test the blinker. The last time that I tried to start it I did notice that the right blinker light in the lower rim of the headlight was on steady.

Ok. I ran the test. The replacement passed but the one on the bike did not.
How do you disconnect the front brake sensor from the handle bar brake hole that it resides?
Ps-the bike still didn't even try to start. Not even a click. I'll be replacing my EHC with the BDMPP fused replacement set up.
