Pipes Burning The Shit Outta EVERYONE!

Hey fellas.. just got an 08 Ridgeback (convert from the bullet bike scene) and have loved every single thing except one, pipe burns. Now let me just state that I am 6'7, so no shortage of legs. But EVERY person that has been on my bike (4 total) have burned their right calf on my pipes. I've been burnt twice myself. And burned to the point of massive blisters... so I need help.

Will custom pipes help at all?

Are there any additional heat shields that cover that area?

Id hate to do it, but pipe wraps?

Every person has been burned towards the front of the pipes, past the heat shield by the "bend" in the lower pipe. Let me know if it doesnt make sense and Ill circle the area and upload a pic. Thanks guys..

at 6'7" maybe some forward control extensions would help to get you away from the pipes a little better, looks like stock length on your bike? and looks like a push seat on there if im not mistaken

I tried some of the heat wrap on my pipes underneath the heat shields and it didn't seem to make too much of a difference. It was still hot enough to melt a shoe. I couldn't measure the difference with an Infrared Thermometer Gun, because of the reflection on the chrome.

I really can't imagine riding with pipes like that and not having on boots and jeans...burnt skin sucks!

I also think you look quite funny riding a chop with shorts...but hey that's me.

Also, you are a generous guy just got the bike and already let 4 people ride it? This is my third year with my RB and only 1 person has ridden it and that's my father he lets me ride his so I was forced....

Nice looking Ridge. I would definitely get some extended forward controls. Probably get some big radius 2 into 2's and get those reflectors off ASAP. Just say'in.

X2 - I am 6'-4'', have stock pipes, 5" forward controls and no push seat (push seat at 6'-7"? WTF ) and have never burned my leg. Are you burning your leg when getting off the bike I presume? Sounds like you need to reroute that right leg kick as you're getting off the bike.

I would look into foot peg extensions. I think I've seen them on kuriakyn or jp cycles or whitneys. that would take your leg away from the pipes more.
