Starter Issue 2003 Mastiff

Experiencing a nightmare here with a starting issue on my 2003 Mastiff! I had to replace my starter, bendix went out, didn't know you had to remove the primary to do this, just wasn't prepared for all that, lol. But finally got it and out for 1st ride after, and surprise my oil lines caught fire! Found I hooked up an led positive wire to the negative battery terminal, idiot!! :bang: Apparently was looking for a ground? So after spending $100 dollars to replace the steel braided oil lines, thinking ready to ride, now only clicking at the starter. UGH! I tested the starter by jumping the small wire, blade connection and the positive battery terminal, same thing, click. So it sounds like plunger is making contact but that is all. New battery as well, disconnected all wires and reconnected to battery. Suggestions? Does it sound like I fried my 2nd starter? I surely do not want to take it out again, along with wasting the oil and primary gasket.
Any input would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Pull the solenoid cover, take a screwdriver handle and push the plunger in hard.
If the starter spins up then you have another issue if not them you may have a starter issue.

I tried manually pushing in plunger and got nothing. The battery is new, tested and read 11.4 v, never cranked up with it, had replaced it because of my stupid issue of hooking wire up wrong, it cooked the battery.

If you have an ohmmeter check your voltage to the positive on the starter then, with plunger pushed in, check your voltage at the starter motor lead where it comes out of the starter and goes to the starter motor.
