I will start off by saying that i have been having issues w my rear brake beginning to drag on long rides. Looked at the design and saw that my stock exhaust literally sits on my rear master cylinder ( design flaw) so i fabricated forward control extensions, shift rod extensions, and purchased a longer brake line. Changed the rear pads out and rebuild the master cylinder and the caliper. Started to put everything back together and i can not get the caliper to go on properly. I removed the spacers because that was making the offset even worse and with those out the back brake is still dragging on the pads. Ran i dial indicator around the rotor and its only out a half thousandth (.0005) of an inch. Is there something i am missing? Havent tried yet?

The rear caliper is a bit tricky. A couple of things I do when rebuilding the caliper/changing pads....
1. Loosen the license plate allows you better access to the caliper mounting bolts
2. Do NOT install the brake line until the caliper is bolted onto the mounting bracket and secure (use red Loctite and about 35 ft/lbs)
a. If necessary use shims between the caliper and mounting bracket in order to align the caliper.
3. Fasten the brake light switch and banjo BEFORE mounting the caliper. (Since the brake light switch is usually tied down I do this by rotating the caliper and not the switch which could end up twisting/snapping the wires).
4. Finally, while mounting the caliper, I set it at a 45 degree angle while getting it over the rotor and into place
