I complained I had no shoes, til I met a man with no feet. Makes me feel bad I complained about a little oil leak.
It's even funnier when you say it since you own one...:lol:Maybe Big Bear Choppers did the welding on that one!

I don't think I can recall how many times I've been in the rain with this dog. I ride quite a lot, at least 10-15k miles per season. Got the bike in November 2011 at 17k miles (speedo wasn't working), replaced the speedo, now I have somewhere close to roughly 40k miles on it. And of all the things that broke down on the bike, that S&S just kept on going and going, oil change after oil change. To me, as long as the engine turns, the rest is.. expendable :2thumbs:Just curious, but how often was your bike in the rain since you've owned it? That's some scary stuff right there. Can't believe a frame for a motorcycle would/should ever do that just from a few pot holes or such. Best of luck with repairs.
Doug, thank you for this feedback. In a way I feel that it wasn't my fault completely or the road's. As for calling Rolling Thunder, that won't help me much since I'm in Europe and just shipping alone would cost me two new frames :loony: .My frame cracked nearly in same spot and I called Sam from Rolling Thunder in Canada the one that supplied Big Dog with there frames and went ape shit with him on the phone I'd give him a call pronto and bitch him out cause I got news for you your not the only one who's frame will crack there known for that happening Rolling Thunder Frames suck. I sent my frame back to them and they fixed it put it in a jigging machine to make it straight and added a support to my frame I have now. Jerk Offs charged me $700 plus I paid s/h each way. I should have sued the shit out them. This happened to me at 60Mph and I had no idea till I almost lost control of the bike.
Mofo! My frame was shipped back to BDM for same issue! And my shock bolt broke too, took off swing arm.Do a search on that here. There was a recall on the 2003 Rolling Thunder frame. My bike was shipped back to Big Dog during winter of 2004 to have the fix done. I believe they added reinforcement to frame underneath the gas tank. I think someone posted some pics.
Another problem I had was the shock mounting bolts being over-torqued. I had 3 of 4 break on me. Dragged one shock home. Those grade 8 bolts are a pain to drill out. I had to remove rear swing arm to fix.
