Brakes

Okay, I did look through old posts and such but, I still have to ask. I need brakes front and back before I take off on a 4 day ride. the stock brakes seem to do well on the front of my '08 Mutt ... BUT, the back brakes just don't seem to hold up with stock. What do you all recommend for REAR BRAKES for the '08 Mutt? 250 rear tire... thanks in advance!!

I keep stock on Lyndall Brake Pads and have been selling them to forum members for the past 5 years or so. Seems to be the choice most go with. Let me know if you are interested.

Just installed a set of Lyndall's 7182 Z-Plus in the rear.

The originals had 12550 miles with less than a 1/16" left on them. I knew they were really bad. I had to change them out before the first ride of the season and before they broke into the rotor surface. I have never been able to lock up the rear brake since the bike was new. Probably due to the brake rotor not having the fresh machined surface on it any longer.

No problem stopping though as it is now.

Don't know your mileage. May want to look at a caliper rebuild to make sure the pistons are sliding good.

Have you checked with wild steed worx? I believe the ones Curtis has on there are guaranteed not to have brake dust issues.

I'm not sure I'd order from any one that doesn't have there phone number on there web site, at least I can't find it on the wild steed web site. Emailed them two days ago and haven't heard a word from them. Hope my order gets here soon they sure took my money right away. Maybe they'll read this post and email me. I have a list of things to buy guess I may have to try another vender any suggestions?

I bought a set for the front and rear for both my bikes (Lyndall gold) from Mick, best I ever had!

mjb675......My apologies, you have been overlooked and it isn't right. I "thought" that I emailed you but when email is sent to me as an "inquiry" the reply automatically loads the wsworx email and not the customer's. In your case I forgot to change it to your email so you did not receive the email. I just sent the email to you again.

I make my best effort to contact everyone who contacts me.
I don't put a phone number on the site because I get countless calls from people who have no interest in buying anything but want information.
I am a one man shop so I have very limited time during the day.
As majority of my customers will attest to I go out of my way to take care of everyone.
If you contact me via email and want to speak with me I give out my phone number. If you give me your phone number I will call you.
One member did point out that I should have my address on the site, and I agree, I just haven't had time to get to it.
Thank you to all my customers out there.
As a side note, anyone who has seen the "Contact Us" page has also seen that we ask for a good contact number if you would like a phone call. Personally I think the problem arises if you don't give us a good contact number as many have not done when sending an inquiry.

Hey Mick.... I went to the Lyndall website to check out the product and do some reading and learning. I believe I would go with the Gold Plus Pads. However, looking at the website, it lists the pads for K-9, Ridgeback, Chopper, Mastiff and Pitbull.
No mention of the Mutt. I have an '08 Mutt 250 rear tire. I want to be sure the pads will work for this bike and not have to have and fenagaling to get them on correctly because they are actually for another model bike. Which part number would be for the Mutt ? and at what price with shipping included to St. Louis, MO 63043 ?

Captain America, no worries now that I know your a real company and you do provide as good customer service as your suppliers allow. I understand your problems as I've been married to a super hero (Wonder Women) for 34 years and she also has a one person shop. What is it with you guys working alone? I think the answer to that is we're going to have to start increasing your business through referrals so you can hire a person to take phone calls. Thanks for getting back to me and send me those parts as soon as you can, I'll be in touch for more stuff very soon. Thanks again

Thanks mjb675
I know it really sucks when you feel like you aren't being taken care of.
I get the same way and again my apologies for the delay.
Unfortunately the vendor I get the shocks from doesn't care much if their smaller vendors get product or not. Since this is my first year at this I am still figuring out what I need to keep in stock and I can see already these shocks are definitely one of the items as the vendor sells out of them within weeks of getting them.
In your case, and one other, I had to go to another vendor and pay a higher price for them just so I could get them to you guys. Of course that was the vendor that ended up sending me the wrong items.
Anyway when you get ready to order again call me and I will take care of you for the trouble you have had.
