Anyone had problems with sissy bars becoming loose?

Energy One
I picked up a brand new set of struts for my 06 k9 for 199 off ebay, and need the sissy bar now, (and pad if I can find it) but a buddy of mine has an 07 k9 and has a problem with his. The holes in the struts that receive the actual bar have become widened, and the bar itself rattles when he rides. Has anyone else had this problem, or is there any advice on how to prevent it or correct it? ALSO, does the sissy bar just SIT in the holes?
thanks!

They have a bolt that comes up thru the bottom of the strut. I certainly hope he's not riding around with it just stuck in there.

I think some of the sissy bars were actually made too small. They were loose in the holes.

is there a way to tell when they started manufactured the ones that are the correct size? I'd hate to spend 250 bucks on ebay or 300 bucks on bdm and get a set that just wiggle and rattle...talk about pissed!

Do a search on (tappered bushing) and this should shed some light on the different set-ups. There are some on e-bay now with the bushings included, these are the latest design and it cracked my strut if the collet is located wrong.

there was a recall on the sissy bars back in the day.
You should be able to fix it up so it's snug
