Ordered a PDM for my '05 Chopper in early February and have been getting the same response. Been thinking of canceling the order and going with a complete rewire using PM handlebar controls and switches.
Might as well that way if pdm or wp breaks you are not waiting weeks for a part iMHO

So what seems to be the problem with your bike? Intermittent problem? Have you tested the entire bike to make sure your 100% sure it is the EHC giving you problems? Sorry if I'm asking you something that has already been discussed...would just hate to see you waist time and money to only find out it was not the EHC giving you the problems.
*My tach hasn't worked since the day after I got the bike. (Figures) All other lights work fine. Changed the ring, checked all connections, cleaned, greased, etc.. No go. :bang:

*Bike loses all power here and there. So far has restarted each time with a cycling of the switch, but the last time I just lost the motor and rest of the power stayed on. That was new. Have checked all grounds and made sure no wires were rubbing or shorting out. :bang:

*Neutral light stays on. New switch, all wires checked, Trans. checked. But still have a shiny green light. :bang:

* The other problem that I have and haven't heard mentioned here is that my EHC lights are soooo dim you almost have to have total darkness to see them. May be normal but I haven't read about that here.

I have read all the threads here and have checked grounds, cleaned connections, replaced switch and greased all connections. All that I can find left is the EHC. Bike is ride able for now just don't feel safe to take it too far and sorry but I like putting miles on my bikes. I have gone through everything mechanical on my bike and it is as solid as it gets other than the electrical. :bang:

I think that WSW should buy out BDM!!:2thumbs: Then we can get honesty and great customer service. Whatcha think?

Can it be that difficult to just put the words "on back order" with the item listed on line? That would at least let you know you will have to wait or choose another option.

Personally, I will never order anything from them again if I don't absolutely have to!

I can understand your frustration. It makes sense to me especially when you took the precaution of calling first. Thanks for sharing.

Agree with post above, get a refund, and buy a wire plus system. Better peace of mind and better customer service.

Just keep in mind that I believe PDM is plug and play where WP is going to take you a day to install assuming you are capable and good with little wires (soldering and/or butt splicing)

And this is why Big Dog is no longer being built. They have no clue what customer service is. Never have and probibly never will.
FYI, my experience was Great when BD was still in Business the Customer Service was excellent. The shitty economy is why they are no longer being built.

All this stuff wrong with your bike and the first thing on your list is to paint it????Listen if you have paid any attention at all you would know that that particular place has its issues,so sending them the money prior to them having in stock the part you need or want is just a bad choice on your part, but the good thing about it is that you now have learned a valueable life lesson, wait till the part is in stock or find other avenues to purchase parts from...I have been waiting for a medallion speedometer ,yet will not pay for it until its in stock...in the meantime I continue to move not knowing how fast I go or how many miles i travelled, and still have that $500 bucks in my pocket, and am not frustrated with myself and them cause I dont have what i want when I want it....

First of all, I ordered the PDM and was told it would be 4-5 weeks because they build them one at a time, not that they didn't have the parts in stock. Second the bike was disassembled and painted because I had a 4-5 week wait for the harness, what better time? I sent the money first on the thought they if they have one finished and ready to ship, do they ship to who has already paid or someone who might pay? There have been other members on here who ordered theirs and got theirs in the time frame I was told and are running them now. So I am not saying that this service is typical of all deals with them it's just my experience. It's great having 20/20 hindsight but if we could all go by that then none of us would have any problems uh?

This is exactly why I wired my entire bike with Harley Davidson color coded wiring , there is no big dog electrical in my bike at all. I have a separate relay and fuse box which was built custom and never had an electrical problem. Big Dog is no longer in business for a reason and its not cause there professional business people.

And this is why Big Dog is no longer being built. They have no clue what customer service is. Never have and probibly never will.

Would disagree with this, for when the company was around, for the most part they had excellent customer service. I know that many had parts that were replaced and taken care of that were way past warranty, as well as tending to try to keep customers happy. Maybe some had problems, but from my experience during the days, Big Dog seem to had excellent customer service.

Now since Big Dog Motorcycle is no longer in business, we have Big Dog Performance Parts and though there is some type if relationship, it is not the same company.

Would have to say the biggest reason for the failure or closing of BDM was the economy. Hell many other went under also and the Motor Company itself took a major hit in sales, let alone dropping Buell and MV Augusta.

In regards to PDM, will say very happy with mine so far and going 2 years with no issue. I will admit though I did wait until I knew they had one in stock.
