Dropped a cylinder.....ugh

Out on the bike yesterday and after a couple of hours I get in some stop and go traffic...little warm out......next thing I know the dog loses power and starts knocking bad.....limp home on half a motor....lots of knocking down below...

hows your oil level / pressure ?
pull your plugs and take a look at them to determine which cylinder went bad and then I would check the valve adjustments for that cylinder may be a bad lifter... have you tried to fire it up today ?

missed a bullet this time....pulled the plugs and one was in bad shape. Cleaned them both and it fired up like nothing ever happened. Going to put a new set in and watch things...could still have plug wire issues, or coil or valves or.....

Mine did that it was one bad plug. Changed it and was fine.

Don't forget the Plug wrench :bang: . Happened to me, which is the reason I mention plug wrench. I usually carrying the extra plugs, wires and anit seize in the tool roll. One day the bike developed a miss and I was going to replace the plug, but no wrench WTF. Lucky me it was night time and I could see the wire arcing on to the engine. I took if off and sure enough it had a cut on the bottom side, replace the wire and all was good.
