No brake lights with either control

I'm having problems with my brake lights when using either hand or foot control, they don't light up. The running lights and blinkers all work fine. My bike has LED's also. Something unique is, if I engage either foot or hand brake, then turn the ignition key on, they light up and after I let off and try to engage again, they don't work. I've checked the rear brake switch by shorting out the two wires, and still no brake light. I've noticed a small black box under the seat that lights up green when either blinker is on, but doesn't turn green when the either brake is applied unless the brake is engaged, then the key is turned on. I did just finish installing the foot extensions, and noticed the lights not working after bleeding the brakes. I'm not sure the brake lights were working before I installed the extensions as I didn't check, and have only rode once this year. We are supposed to get mid 70's this weekend, and gonna try and stretch out a little ride. Any help you guys can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

2 of the EHCs ive had and bad brake control, I believe it was due to Jump starting the bike with a car. So I am without Brake likes at the moment. Took me forever to find the problem

Jay, I think the auto cancel still works fine; I'll double check that tonight. I'm going to check voltage down the whole line. I hope it's not the EHC. Battery is only a year old, and never been jumped. I keep it hooked up to a tender.

Just an fyi,
The bike can't be in neutral when testing auto cancellation as per the service manual. If the auto cancellation feature still works then the problen is most likely not the ehc

Auto cancel works in gear. The thing that keeps throwing me off is if I engage either brake then turn the key on, it powers the light, but no light if the brake is applied after ignition key is turned on. Everything checked out ok on the meter too. Bout to give in and take it to the shop

Well, I feel like a moron now. After looking at photo's online, and what I have under the seat. My bike already had the wire plus installed when I bought it. The black box I referred to under the seat appears to be the lighting control module. It's my guess this module is faulty. I've got a email into technical support with wire plus to help trouble shoot. I'll post the outcome once I get there.

After talking to technical support over at wire plus, they had me send my switch module in for testing, and come to find out, it was faulty. Looks like I'm going to be ordering a new one. At least I know what the problem is finally.

I have the exact same issue going on. Did WP replace the control module or did they make you buy another one of their crappy modules.

Unfortunately, I had to buy a new switch module and power module from WP (should be in tomorrow's mail). They claimed that both were faulty.....amazing to me that if both were faulty, I was only have brake light issues. Not a happy camper, but I guess they really have you by the balls in this case. It does however come with a 1 yr. warranty for whatever that's worth. This new module is supposedly newer and improved from their latest 2010 development.

Just wanted to report back that the new switch module & power module cured the brake light issues. Ended up costing $450 from WP. All is working like new again.
