EHC SOFTWARE IN BDPP

I must say, I can NEVER get anything straight on that bloody webpage.. It is so confusing, the information about the products is extremely poor!!! :angry:

Which one of these Part # is the correct one to be able to read the EHC? (for an 06 K9)

That is the first I've heard of them offering the software.
Probably have to call them to verify what is what.....assuming you can get someone to answer the phone!

They have different software for different years.
I'm guessing but based on the part numbers I would have to say

bdm260-00075 07 and up

bdm260-00051 05-06

bdm260-00006 04

Thats the issue I am having right now.
I have the 07 and Up, courtesy of an unnamed member copyright and all that good stuff, but I also need the older years software.
I installed the software, if you can call it that, on a dedicated XP machine but no go with these older EHCs. Keep getting "uable to acquire packet data" and "The EHC was unable to activate the bootloader" error dialogs.
Any software programmers on here that could help merge all this in to one package.
Anyone????
I have some experience with programming and could do it but I don't have the time.
And all those slamming those of us working with the EHC move on with your comments and "Good Luck' statements were not interested. I still believe the EHC, wittled down to a stream lined function critical unit with improved circuits is the best path.
You like the WP and the PDM have fun with it.

So I can find out more about my bike... I have no history for her whatsoever....

It is not so bad idea actually!!! I will buy the 05-06 and I will send you a copy but you also send me a copy of your 07 It is a win-win deal :2thumbs:

you could try using vmware and have 3 different xp virtual machines running on a single laptop - each dedicated to the software version ,, if someone can get me a copy of the BDM software i can play around with it and see it it works - i would need the 07+ version for my EHC to validate it talks to it

I dont think the goal is to run all 3 at once. I dont think Curtis is trying to have 3 different EHC testing at the same time.

I think the goal is to take the 07 software and make it cross compatable to all years. I would assume the software for the most part does the same thing. Although I don't think there was anything FI related on 04's so software is probably lacking that functionality.

I'm with you on that at this level hayseed.
I need to be able to offer thorough concise testing at this level.
But at the same time I want to move forward with modern more robust coding techniques and more streamlined robust hardware.
Ultimately putting out a new unit that is cross compatible without firmware updating.
Call me stupid, naive whatever its just the way I approach things.
Don't know that I want to tackle EFI at this point but maybe later.
