What is the best way to take off the factory sticker on the down tube?
Is there any reason I should not take it off?
I just don't want to hurt the paint I hope this is not a dumb question.

heat gun and patience....

i left the identification one on mine just because it's easier when riding into Canada. The border patrol has a way of hassling people for retarded things such as this.

small amount of heat, followed by WD-40, then use dental floss -- it'll keep it all in one piece. Like was said, then you can attach it under your seat if you like. I keep mine folded in the bottom of the stash bag--I've never taken it out since I took it off.

X2 on the heat gun. Be careful to not get it to hot. The old ladies hair dryer will work. Biggest pain in the ass is usually the adhesive residue left behind once its removed. If thats an issue, grab some 3m adhesive remover. Works great and won't hurt your paint.

?........ I hope this is not a dumb question.
The only dumb questions are those not asked !

Hope you get it off and by NO MEANS WHATSOEVER do NOT make any shortcuts with sharp objects to ease the removal of the glue on your frame. Don't ask me how I know this, just don't do it !
